Plastic bag free week 2018

HORIZONTAL ACTIONS

Information Kiosk

In order to effectively inform the residents and tourists of Syros about both the impact of plastic bags in the marine environment and the objectives of the Project, we have operated from Monday, May 21st to Saturday May26 th, at Miaoulis Square in Hermoupolis, (from 10 am to 1 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm), the LIFE DEBAG Information Kiosk. Members of the Project’s beneficiaries had the opportunity to exchange views with the citizens of Syros, to listen to their concerns, to inform them on the recent legislation for the reduction of the consumption of lightweight plastic carrier bags and to urge them to participate in the actions of the “Plastic bag free week”.

“Plastic Bag Man”

In the context of the “3rd Plastic Bag Free Week”, from Tuesday, May 22 to Saturday, May 26, the “monster” called “Plastic Bag Man”, which ferociously ate plastic bags, walked around the streets of Hermoupolis! In fact, the “Plastic Bag Man” was not a monster at all, but a member of the Project’s beneficiaries, collecting plastic bags and replacing them by giving back free of charge reusable LIFE DEBAG bags!
