Implementation of Voluntary Agreements on the reduction of the consumption of plastic bags by Supermarket chains
On Tuesday, October 23rd 2018, the 6th stakeholders’ Consultation Forum was successfully held, at the premises of the Hellenic Recycling Agency (HRA).
The forum, which took place under the auspices of the HRA, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environment, by the Chairman and executives of the Hellenic Recycling Agency, by a by representative of the Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods, and by representatives of all the major Supermarket chains.
The 6th Forum focused on the first results, as also on the he problems identified so far by the implementation of the JMD on plastic bags. Furthermore, the Voluntary Agreements already implemented by the Supermarket chains were presented. Finally, a discussion took place on the Voluntary Agreements that had been presented and submitted during the 5th Forum of LIFE DEBAG. Through the dialogue that followed, all the parameters of the proposals contained in these Voluntary Agreements and the views of the Supermarket representatives on their adoption have been presented and thoroughly analyzed.
The dialogue was recorded and the minutes of the 6th Forum are available to all interested parties.
